THE BLACK BOW

Dainty, Opulent, Classic Chicque, Bold, Classy, Sophisticated, Innovative, Magical, Iconic, where High Fashion meets Elegance are numerous ways Levoilia J is viewed by many who have had the priviledge of seeing her. Levoilia is a business woman, sister, aunt, mentor, achiever, counselor, singer, visionary, writer and actress! LJ has also been one of Baltimore's best kept secrets when it comes to Fashion! LJ's fashion and personality shines like an ageless stone! Her living example is not gender driven, as she demonstrates how to leave a life long impression in every setting. Her fashion sense can be captured through her professional life, her spiritual life or during her day to day normal. Just from viewing her in the above image you can see she exudes artistry, funk and poise. Adorned here in a Black Haute Couture dress, black heels and an over sized black bow. The bow used to be an item usually thought of as an accessory that completed the decorum of any gift. Now the bow can still be viewed as such an item. The Black Bow completes LJ's ensemble' just as it's used to top off a present it's used to top off a gift!

Artistry Deposit from Rodney Jon

Make up is a product that was created by ancient Egyptians around 4000 B.C. for cosmetic and health purposes. Two of the noted purposes of makeup were to protect against the weather and better enhance their looks. Two of their major products used were Uguent (for moisturizer) and Kohl (to highlight the eye features). The Egyptians also believed it was a magical product thatwas worn to protect from the "evil eye".

KenJ Galaxy asked Industry Beauty Expert Rodney Jon to share his views on both the benefits of make up now and to come.

Rodney Jon is a firm believer in enhancing the existing beauty of women through the consistency of proper skincare regimens. When asked what was his favorite line of make up to use while working, he stated that he's not loyal to one particular brand as each one serves different purposes. While shooting on the set of Hype Hair Magazine he was afforded the opportunity to use a brand called "Young Blood". Young Blood, a paraben free cosmetic line made from organic material, that RJ feels is healthy for the skin while "it leaves a silky polished natural finish". As you may or may not know a lot of cosmetic lines use a material called Paraben which preserves shelf life and is being debated on whether or not this material is cancerous.

RJ told KJG that after years of practice and learning from some of his industry peers/mentors he offers all of his clients a session that consist of perfecting their appearance, giving their skin a healthy glow. Through consultations, he promotes the importance and proper way to achieve a "basic everyday look". This look can be accomplished, but in order to do so he gives us a list of items that should be found in your enhancement kits/make up bags. These items are; make up brushes, concealer, foundation (powder or liquid), mascara, eye liner, blush, lip gloss and primer. Primer is an item that beauty expert feels is a must have item. This product adds a perfecting finish to the skin and is to be added before the application of your foundation. Along with the primer, concealer is noted as his must have, "it instantly brightens and lifts the eye while creating a road map for your face that requires the use of less makeup", that is applied after your primer.

Rodney Jon says that there are a lot of new trends for 2012. For those of you who are being proactive in your seasonal purchase here are a few looks that stood out to RJ: a bold orange-red lip, purplish reds are a fair game, generous black eyeliner with a 60's inspired cat eye, dramatic navy eye and strong brows.

Ladies get your kits geared up and set for the now and to come!

Re"FUR"bished

When hearing refurbished you instantly think of taking something old and making it new. With winter vigorously approaching, I've decided to take some old fashion such as fur and incorporate it with the new. Fur was formerly looked upon as a material that showed a sign of wealth and was worn as "Warm Luxury". It was a material that came in several forms and different makes from Fox, Rabbit, Mink, Beaver and Faux Fur. From coats, jackets, hats, scarves, shawls and throws. In its many forms and makes, fur now can be viewed as a "must have" accessory. This accessory adds the finishing touch to any outfit, from your "Dress Down" denim to your "After Five" evening wear. So if your looking for the best way to be warm and accessorized; be winterized and go Re"fur"bished!!!
